If you’re reading this with a cup of coffee in your hands, welcome home.
It’s been a while.
To be honest, my life has been a rollercoaster these past few years. Somewhere between becoming a wife and mother, working full-time, going back to college, trying to keep up with everything, and figuring out what I need to do next…this little corner of the internet became silent.
I didn’t mean for it to end up that way.
I kept telling myself I’d come back when I had the time…. When I wasn’t so busy…. When life finally settled down….
But life never truly settles down, does it?
Instead, I realized something that I, probably, should have realized a long time ago:
Life is not meant to be perfect.
I know, evolutionary information. Go ahead and give me my Nobel prize now.
No, seriously, life isn’t perfect and it wasn’t until I became a mom that I realized that. My son is only five months old at the moment, and every day is a struggle. But I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that it is okay for me not to constantly have all of my sh*t together (not like I ever did to begin with tbh).
I can hold off on folding laundry if that means I can take a shower. I can spare those thirty minutes before bed to read a chapter of that book that’s been sitting on my nightstand for far too long. I can also create with dishes in my sink.
So… I’m back.
But, I’m not as the same girl in her early twenties who had no idea what she wanted to do with this corner of the internet.
Coffee, Books, and Dragons isn’t returning with just a prettier design or a few new posts. It’s a reflection of the life I’m building – a slower, cozier life built with one small habit at a time…
Here, you’ll find:
- cozy coffee moments
- honest book reviews
- little adventures and weekend memories
- recipes, routines, and everyday life
- life-long encouragement for anyone trying to become the best version of themselves, one chapter at a time
I’m still learning how to be me again so I’m not going to claim I have all the answers. My house isn’t always spotless. My TBR goes on for miles. And, some weeks my husband and I survive off of dumb luck, leftover take-out, and, of course, coffee.
But that’s okay.
This blog isn’t about perfection.
It’s about finding magic in the most ordinary of days.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or are an original follower, thank you for stopping by. I hope you’ll grab your favorite drink, get comfortable and stay awhile.
