Review: Rebel Blue Ranch Series by Lyla Sage 🤎📚🤠

GOODBYE, REBEL BLUE RANCH 😭

If you’ve been keeping up with my posts lately, then you already know that I’ve finally finished the Rebel Blue Ranch series by Lyla Sage. And honestly…

I loved it.

Obviously. 🤠

But that doesn’t mean I don’t have some thoughts…

🌾 BOOK #1: DONE AND DUSTED
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars

This book definitely grew on me. The start was a little rocky, and there were a good handful of moments that made me cringe. But I’m glad I decided to switch to the audiobook because it completely surprised me.

In my opinion, the audiobook helped the dialogue a lot. Once I got into it, I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and getting introduced to Meadowlark.

Was it somewhat cringey? Yes. 😂 But overall, it was a good start to the series and a quick, fun romance.

💘 Couple Thoughts: Emmy and Luke would absolutely know how to throw a party…I just hope I’m invited.

🐎 BOOK #2: SWIFT AND SADDLED
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars

I loved Ada and Wes. They were such a realistic couple and honestly felt like a big gust of fresh air.

Both characters had their own personal struggles—a messy divorce, family expectations, depression—which made them feel like actual people outside of their relationship.

And let’s not forget the chemistry these two shared!

Because I KNOW I was applauding Ada when she said, “Keep the hat on, cowboy.” 👏🏻👏🏻

💘 Couple Thoughts: This is the couple I’d want to go on a double date with.

🤎 BOOK #3: LOST AND LASSOED
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars

Gus Ryder is a perfect book boyfriend.

Loving father? ✔️
Caring brother? ✔️
Hot rancher who calls you baby? ✔️

Yeah…it’s no wonder he was able to turn his enemy into his lover. 🤎

Gus and Teddy are the perfect example of my favorite kind of enemies-to-lovers storyline. None of this “they hated each other because they secretly loved each other the entire time” BS!

They had history. They had actual reasons for not getting along. And, most importantly, they had things they genuinely needed to learn about one another.

I could read this one again and again with absolutely no complaints.

1000⭐️/10. No notes.

💘 Couple Thoughts: If Gus and Teddy got into a bar fight, I’d believe it.

🤠 BOOK #4: WILD AND WRANGLED
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars

Cam and Dusty are exes with a lot of history—history that, in my opinion, ate up a little too much of the story.

Then came the third-act breakup…

Cue the heavy eye roll. 🙄 #iykyk

I liked Cam in the previous books, but getting into her POV left me with some mixed feelings. She could be incredibly contradictory, and I think that’s ultimately what kept this from being the five-star finale I expected.

And maybe I would’ve felt differently if we’d gotten more of Dusty’s POV.

Actually, the more I think about it, I wish this entire series gave us more from the MMCs because Lyla Sage is extremely good at writing them when she does.

But with Cam, I fell off the horse one too many times.

Overall, I still enjoyed Wild and Wrangled, and I’d still recommend it. It just wasn’t quite the finale I was hoping for.

On the plus side, Cam and Dusty’s banter gave me serious Lorelai and Luke from Gilmore Girls vibes, if that tells you anything. 👀

💘 Couple Thoughts: Cam and Dusty were definitely voted “Most Likely to Get Hitched” in high school…and they were right!
